Antique diamond 5-stone ring on 18ct gold and platinum

An antique diamond 5-stone ring on 18ct gold. 

This lovely piece was likely made in the 1920s and is typical of designs in that era. It features 5 old brilliant cut diamonds, graduating in size and ranging from around 2.05mm diameter to 3mm diameter.

The antique diamonds are assessed as G-H in colour and VS&SI in clarity. The stones are bezel/rubover set in a pretty platinum setting, which has milgrain edging surrounding the stones. The ring shank is in 18ct gold with a platinum capped setting. 

Predates hallmarking requirements but metal tests at 18ct gold and platinum and this is also stamped to the inside of the shank. 

In good antique condition with some scuffing to the shank, commensurate with age. Subtle evidence of a previous resize on the base of the shank.  

This piece has been assessed by the Guild of Valuers and Jewellers and their pre-sale report can be viewed in the photos. Their independent valuation is £1,000 and a personalised insurance valuation certificate will be included with this sale and will be provided following completion of any returns policy.
