Antique sapphire and diamond ring on 18ct gold

An antique sapphire and diamond 7-stone ring on 18ct gold. 

A stunning ring which has 3 sapphire stones assessed as “purplish blue" in colour - and the colour of the stones really is beautiful. The central stone is a square cushion cut sapphire of around .66ct; shouldered by two accent diamonds on each side. The diamonds are old brilliant cut and around .12ct weight in total. 

One shoulder sapphire is an oval cut stone of around .25ct and the other a circular faceted cut of around .21ct. 

Please note one sapphire is a later replacement and could be a synthetic stone. It has not undergone full lab testing however the stones are very well matched in colour and slight difference is only visible on close inspection. The stone on this side is slightly smaller and a subtle difference can be seen. The associated shoulder diamonds sit lower on the setting than the other side (see photos). This has been factored into the overall insurance valuation as documented in the pre-sale report (see item photos). 

The stones are set into a hand finished silver setting on an 18ct gold shank which shows some light scuffing and there is some light wear to the facet edges, commensurate with age. Predates hallmarking requirements, but metal tested. 

This piece has been assessed by the Guild of Valuers and Jewellers and their pre-sale report can be viewed in the photos. Their independent valuation is £975 and a personalised insurance valuation certificate will be included with this sale and will be provided following completion of any returns policy.
