An antique, hand made, Victorian old eight cut diamond navette cluster ring.
A stunning example of a hand made Victorian diamond ring. The shank and setting are a mix of 9ct gold, with an 18ct gold base to the shank and the setting itself is made of silver.
It features a total of 21 diamonds and carries a total diamond weight of around .63ct diamonds. The diamonds are old eight cut with one old European cut diamond, each in a claw setting and assessed as ranging from colour I-L and clarity I1-I3. Packing some serious sparkle this ring ticks all the boxes for heirloom capability and wearability.
The shank features a split tapered design with carved detailing on the shoulders, all drawing the eye into those show stopping diamonds.
As expected with a piece of this age there is some very minor damage: one central diamond has a small chip visible under magnification and one diamond is an old European cut, suggesting it might be a later replacement. There is evidence of resizing which has been done with 18ct gold to the base (the remainder of the band is 9ct gold). Some minor tarnishing to the silver setting.
The total weight is 2.79g and the gold has been carefully acid tested to confirm the type as, due to age, this item is not hallmarked.
