A vintage acrostic DEAREST ring on 9ct gold.
Acrostic rings were developed in France in the 19th century and they were worn and given as romantic gifts. The acrostic ring means that each letter of the word is represented by a gemstone.
This piece has diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and tourmaline, spelling 'DEAREST'. These acrostic rings are sought after and are a staple in any vintage collector's jewellery box!
The gallery width is around 3mm and the stones are each claw set into 9ct solid gold.
This piece is fully hallmarked and weighs around 1.8g. In good vintage condition overall.
