Vintage large opal cabochon ring on 9ct gold

A vintage opal cabochon ring on 9ct gold. 

This eye catching ring is all about the opal stone. The stone measures a substantial 10x14mm. The opal has a lovely range and play of colour including greens, pinks, blues and some orange. 

Likely mid-century in age, the opal does have some surface abrasions which are only noticeable on magnification.  The opal stone is set within a gold rope twist setting with a gold beaded edge, and split shoulders. 

There is some thinning to the underside of the finger bezel, only noticeable when removing or putting on the ring.

• Vintage - date stamp rubbed but likely mid-century
